Georgia Chapter
Treat Addiction. Save Lives.
The Georgia Society of Addiction Medicine represents a small but dedicated group of physicians and health care providers who seek to improve the health and well-being of those who suffer from the disease of addiction. The mission of the Georgia Society of Addiction Medicine, a state chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, is to improve the care and treatment of people with the disease of addiction and advance the practice of Addiction Medicine.
Our goal is to increase access to treatment and improve the quality of treatment provided by healthcare professionals. We aim to provide education for addiction medicine specialists, physicians, students, counselors, therapists, and others in the medical field, as well as legislators, law enforcement, and the general public while promoting the appropriate roles of physicians in the care of patients who suffer from addiction.

Compassion Leads the Way
Our Mission
At the Georgia Society of Addiction Medicine (GSAM) our mission is to advance the treatment of addiction, ethically and compassionately, providing education for health professionals, patients and the general public under the direction of skilled physicians specializing in the area of addiction treatment and recovery. GSAM promotes key principles of addiction treatment by implementing evidence-based treatment and drug policies that have been proven successful. We stand in the gap for our patients, advocating for them, their families, and those who offer strong support systems at every stage of treatment and care.
EDUCATION
Offering news, information, training conferences, and more to provide clinician's and health professionals with the tools they need to change lives. We believe that education is the first step to overcoming addiction. Understanding the cause will always lead to the cure.
ADVOCACY
We believe in a future where addiction prevention, treatment, remission and recovery are accessible to all. Utilizing the most current science and best practices for addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery we can make a difference.
SCIENCE
We define treatment based upon measured and proven science and treat the disease of addiction in accordance with best practices garnered from the most current information on addiction treatment and recovery.
