American Medical Association (AMA) News

AMA Disability Advisory Group Informational Call: Announcing the creation of a Disability Advisory Group for the American Medical Association (AMA). There will be a call on Tuesday afternoon, September 26. Please email william.jordan@ama-assn.org by Thursday, September 21 to receive the calendar invitation. The AMA hopes to assemble a diverse group of 8-16 people to meet virtually every 1-2 months starting in late 2023 for 24 months with possibly one hybrid meeting per year (travel support will be provided).  The Disability Advisory Group was called into existence by AMA policy, which specifies the group will be composed of AMA members (physicians and medical students) who themselves have a disability, and will focus on developing and promoting strategies for inclusion in all AMA activities, educational and training opportunities on disability, tools for physicians and students to advocate in the workplace, and communications to employers on reasonable accommodation.
