On November 16th, ASAM joined the American Medical Association, state medical associations, and other national medical specialty societies, in urging Congress to quickly pass legislation to stop another impending round of Medicare payment cuts. Absent Congress’ intervention, physicians will face a 3.37 percent payment reduction beginning January 1, 2024, in spite of ever-rising practice costs and long-stagnating Medicare payment rates.
